KTA38 engine configuration and service use

The KTA38 family uses a V12 layout with 38 litres of displacement, a 159 mm bore and stroke, turbocharging, aftercooling and a Pressure Time (PT) fuel system. Ratings and peripheral equipment vary by CPL and application, so a marine, generator-drive or industrial KTA38 should not be identified by model name alone. The exact build record is the starting point for an overhaul or replacement-parts list.
